As many of you know, I have a manga version of my published novel, Predator Turned Prey. You can scroll down to the bottom of this to see a sample of that manga.

The manga is not published like the novel (Ally and I decided handeling it ourselves was best while we're still in school). It is printed by me using CafePress, however, the manga has sold terrifically! It got over fifty orders its first week out! and I give out copies as examples, sell some, people share them, I always have them for people to read at conventions... The project landed Allyson a job with Jack Mangan creating a manga of his story Spherical Tomi and has gotten me a number of interviews and even a few invitations for Anime and Manga related events as well as promoting me even higher in my ranks as a published authoress.

And we've only got 2 chapters out!

While browsing through some other mangas, I noticed Guest Art. Some had special covers, back covers, inserts, mini comics...

I started thinking about that... If this can work so well for us, why not open the opportunity to others? I thought,

The contest will revolve around chapters 3 and 4 (since that's the next Manga to come out, both chapters in the novel are short so they are being combined in the manga)

We're hoping to have the manga done in time for SabotenCon! SO the deadline for this contest is MAY 1ST, 2008 no exceptions or extensions can be permitted as Allyson and I need time to review entries, get them added and printed in time.

This contest is not just for those who have read the novel. It increases your chances if you know the story, but it is not mandatory since the characters are listed and described.

Rules/Procedure

1.You may enter as many pictures as you want

2.If you make us banners advertising this contest, your name will be in the manga as a thank you.

3.Just because you enter, it does not mean we are forced to use your artwork.

4.I maintain the copyright on all images since the characters/scenes drawn are copyrighted to me. You may not sell or trade any fanart featuring my characters/scenes/ideas/etc...

5.If you win, your artwork will be included in the manga! All artists retain the notoriety of being the artist of their image and neither Allyson or myself will ever claim to have drawn it.

6.Please sign your artwork! We want people to know you drew it

7.Wherever you post the artwork, you must include a link to predatorturnedprey.com as well as to this contest. You must say they are characters from Predator Turned Prey by Ravyn Crescent. (spell my name wrong and you lose points XD it keeps happening...)

8.Be respectful. Do not steal and do not criticize. Only give constructive criticism when/if it is asked for.

9.NO S&M. It is a slavery novel, yes, but it is about true, real, modern day slavery known as Human Trafficking, of which I am an abolitionist and an activist striving to set those slaves free. I lived that life... it's not fun, kinky, or anything else. None of my characters in Predator Turned Prey like being in chains

10.We have image requirements. All images must be PNG format and AT LEAST 200 DPI! You can get the template here: template

11. All images except the front and back cover (both of which you can do art for) will be printed in grayscale! So don't freak out about coloring if you do not have the time, unless you're working on cover art!

ALL the entries are looked over by Allyson Boeckman ()and I. We'll decide who we use, and who we don't. Sorry, but it has to be that way! We don't want to give this opportunity to just anyone, and we are the ones risking the money we get for selling the mangas by featuring guest art. So we'll be the ones who decide what we use and what we don't.

Final decision is left to me so be nice.

Let is be known, I don't want to see samples of art you have done. I want to see your trials for my manga. I want to see artwork of my characters! Even if it's just a full body shot. We have a few ideas listed at the bottom, I highly suggest you check them out

We are looking for scenes from the novel (for those who have read), we're looking for full body pictures, cover designs (your image could be the cover)! We did this last summer, but now we are looking for even more to add to the list.

The main thing we have added is 4 panel koma.
“It's basically extra 4 panel stories that don't have to do with the plot. They're usually short and comedic in nature and are included as a bonus in a lot of manga. You can find them in every volume of the Full Metal Alchemist manga and in the first of Death Note. There are quite a few others but those are pretty popular and easy to find in any book store or on the web. This gives artists a change to show off their Manga skills in a little story! These will be put in the start and end of the manga. This may be a bit of a challenge for those who do not know the storyline or characters, but fear not! We are looking more at style than anything right now! Try your luck and if we like it we might accept you and give you a plot to work with.

We are also allowing omake as an intro!
And we are looking for back cover designs, front covers, full body, backgroundless character art, fanstrips and more.
