Valentines Day for many means romance, for some means a reminder of lost love, for some is nothing more than another day, but for many... it's a time to gain great profit off slavery.

Predator Turned Prey, my published novel, is an Anti-Human Trafficking novel written in a fantasy setting to help people learn about Modern Day Slavery by giving them a story and characters to love and cherish rather than facts to bore them. It is the only published novel of it's kind, and I hope it becomes a best seller one day and breeds a new genre of young adult reading!

There are a great deal of novels out there about slavery – more than you know, I guarantee it... But who reads these books? People doing research, people who already know about Human Trafficking and people who aren't sure what they are reading...

But ah... you pick up a fiction novel in the YoungAdult or ScienceFiction category (PTP is in both sections, usually), you expect to get a great story and you aren't disappointed! You are surprised, however, when you realize “wait a minute... this is modern” despite the 1776 setting. The historic facts, the little twists... subliminal messaging confirmed as you hit the authors note.

It's not just a passion for me, it's life. My father was abusive, he put my mother, brother, sister and I in a situation that can easily be counted as modern day slavery... I was afraid, I admit it. I was afraid... and I saw things, heard voices. I saw Hunter, the lead character in PTP. I wrote poems about him... One day, a school councilor saw them and it set me free by giving me proof people saw this as wrong. I told the police officer at my school, and that day, I was set free.

There are so many others, too many others, in the same situation and worse... So I fight for them. This Valentines Day I ask you, please, don't forget where your products come from.
